I watched this film last week, I watched it after I'd watched That Awkward Moment, which there is also a review for.

I wasn't all too keen on watching this after I read "from the director of Mean Girls and the writer of Heathers" because I felt like it would be a poor imitation of the two, except with vampires and their high school drama. Also, a quick FYI, I haven't read the books, and here's a trailer.

Immediately, I was excited when the film started, I didn't know where this came from, maybe because Zoey Deutch looks like Kat Dennings; and the relationship that Rose and Lissa have reminded me of the relationship that Max and Caroline have in 2 Broke Girls -- it was actually a little bit freaky because they were so similar.

Thoughts on their relationship?

Like I said above, I haven't read any of the books in this series, HOWEVER, after watching this film, I now want to read them all. I want more. I want to know more about their world and all the differences etc. I can understand why people are borderline obsessed with this series, as well as why this blew up on my news feed upon it's initial launch.

I loved the film, a definite FIVE OUT OF FIVE in my eyes. It was funny, with action, and full of fantasy. Plus, a whole new take on vampires, which is always a plus. Since watching it the first time around, I've watched it once more. I loved the special effects and the playful gore; it was fun. There's also another plus in that they've made me want to read the series.
