Pre-episode thoughts: A lot happened last week, including that ending that even had the people who'd read the books stumped, and knowing that they were stumped was a good feeling, but at the same time, it means that we don't have answers, or a name for these new creatures.
I'm excited about Daenerys, and I know that in the books she's still not sailed across the sea to try and take over the Iron Throne, so what I'm thinking is that she won't want to take over the throne and instead, she'll want to be the leader of where she is now; after all, she has the dragons.
We might see more of Bran. I almost forgot about him again, but I'm sure he's still got an important role somewhere, especially since they made a huge deal about him last week.
*spoilers*
Episode Five: First of His Name

After last week with the Cersei and Jamie thing and the whole internet blew up about whether it was right or wrong etc. I'm going to stay out of that argument and take it for what it was; a raw scene depicting how powerless Cersei is, however, in last night's episode, we see Cersei talk to Margaery Tyrell after seeing her smiling and nod to the new king of Westeros.
I don't know what Cersei's motives are for endorsing Margaery to her father so that she may wed her son, the new king. Hopefully we'll see what's to come of that, I don't think Cersei wants what she says she wants, although the main reason for the marriage is because of the Tyrell's money.
We visit Sansa, in the dreaded Eyrie. That hole in the floor makes me feel a little queasy, it's not even seeing it, it's just knowing that it's there. And definitely foreshadowing of things to come; someone has to be killed that way. I kind of want it to be Sansa, I feel like she's one of the most passive characters on the show, and I wouldn't mind if G. R. R. Martin killed her. The scene between her and Lysa Tully scared me; Lysa is crazy, and it makes me theory that Sansa will be killed by her hand.
I love that Daenerys meme. She's apparently only 18 in the books, and I can kind of see that--she's maturing somewhat from the first season, and you can see this with her scene.
She has a counsel of people to help her with difficult decisions, and it's almost like she's gathering her own strategists for when she sits on the Iron Throne--which I would love nothing more than to see, but I don't think she will. I don't think G. R. R. Martin would ever let us have this, however, what I do think he'll let us have, is Daenerys becoming a monster with the power that she's garnering.
So, it looks like Jon Snow knows some things, except he's completely oblivious to his younger brother, Bran's whereabouts, even though he was in the vicinity. Bran's making a comeback after last week when I wasn't even aware he was still alive. There's a strange scene where Jojen sees a tree behind Bran, and says a couple of really cryptic lines about finding that tree, known as a heart tree.
Favourite Scene
Like I said above, Jon Snow knows some thing... example, he knows how to use a sword; sticking it through the skull of a man so it came out through his mouth. All that blood, all that gore. It made me feel quite sick, but at the same time, I loved the scene.
Have you watched it?
What did you think?
