For those of you that don't know (I didn't until yesterday when I watched the trailer) Gotham is a new TV series coming to Fox this Autumn based on the origin stories of James Gordon, Bruce Wayne and Batman villains such as, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Two-Face, The Joker and Poison Ivy. Before I continue, here's the extended trailer which was released a couple of days ago.
I think you'd be kidding yourself if you said that you weren't even a little bit excited about watching this. I have to say I love a good crime series and have been waiting for something new and Gotham definitely looks like its going to fill that void, and then some. The crime element is going to be great, but it's going to be even greater to see batman villains we know and love (or love to hate) in a whole new way; I personally can't wait to see some of them as kids!
A TV show with a story as high profile and well known as this does run a danger of being cheesy and not living up to expectations. However, I think we have to trust Fox, Warner Bros. and DC Comics on this one, because the trailer looks awesome and I can't wait.
Thoughts?
