This film already has Golden Globe and Academy Award  nominations under it's belt, but even without them I would have been confident of it being another beautiful and brilliant masterpiece from the genius that is Hayao Miyazaki.

For me, the excitement I feel for this film is very bitter-sweet; being such a fan of Hayao Miyazaki's films, I've always hoped there would never be a 'farewell' one. However, it's not the end of Ghibli films and I'm sure that this film being Miyazaki's final one, will mean that if possible, even more hard work and love has gone into making it a farewell to remember.

The English dub for this film stars two of my favourite actors: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt, along with many other talented actors. Although I do love Ghibli's fantasy-based stories the most, the plot for this film looks interesting and from the trailers the animation looks beautiful - making it appear to be just as magical as 'Spirited Away', 'Howl's Moving Castle', 'My Neighbour Totoro' and so on.

I know a lot of people place animation in a 'just for kids' category and might not be planning on watching this film, but I would really urge everyone to go and see it. Studio Ghibli's films are always deep and meaningful stories with vibrant, often quirky characters and are always beautiful things to watch; and I'm positive that The Wind Rises will be no different.

Thoughts?
Will you be going to watch this?
