Top 5 Archers in Film

Archers are in right now... well, they have been for the past couple of years, so here's my countdown of my top FIVE archers from film.

#5 - Neytiri

Zoe Saldana from the 2009 CGI masterpiece, Avatar. She comes in at FIVE on my list of top archers--well, she's quite an aggressive killer, she'd probably try and attack me if she didn't rank at all.

Well, we only have to wait another two and half years until the anticipated sequel, Avatar 2. Oh, and according to IMDb, there are four Avatar films, 2 to 4 are all in pre-production. Well, this is exciting news.

#4 - Susan Pevensie

Portrayed by actress Anna Popplewell (let's take a moment to make sure we read her last name properly. Hmm, yep.) The second eldest of the Pevensie children in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. She is seen as the gentle one, but with a bow in hand, she's anything but.

#3 - Merida

While I'm not a huge Disney fan, I did really enjoy Brave--finally, a Disney film with a strong female lead; a female lead with a bow and arrow. I think Disney put this film out while there was the huge "archery" boom on our screens. She makes the third female on the list. 

#2 - Legolas

Oooh! A male... but I have to tell you that the main reason he's here is because he's Orlando Bloom, enough said. Nah, Legolas is a great archer, and you can see the determination to kill in his eyes--although granted, that's not the only reason someone would use a bow and arrow, just the main one.

#1 - Katniss

Jennifer Lawrence. That is all. She's a great actress, and she has a huge personality off-screen, which is always a plus in deciding these things.

Katniss is my #1 choice, mainly because she comes from NOTHING, everyone else on my list is either royalty, high born, or rich. Katniss is poor as shit, and she has to hunt/kill to survive--basically the entire storyline.

I didn't include...

I didn't include Hawkeye or Oliver Queen from Arrow; in order, I don't think Hawkeye is a good archer; yes, he hits his marks, but his technique is sloppy and unprofessional; you'd think someone who portrays and archer would at least take a few classes so that they can sell and cement themselves in that roll... I guess not. And I would've included Oliver Queen, however, he's currently not in any films, and I'd have a hard time slotting him between my current choices.
